Personality:

Poe is considerably brave and bold to the detriment of being both reckless and brash tending to let his heart rule over his head when he perceives something as unjust. He is noted by General Leia Organa "that his need to do what was right and "maybe find a little adventure along the way," coupled with his outstanding piloting skills, reminded her of her brother, Luke Skywalker." Throughout canon, Poe does manage to get into a variety of messes (i.e. - captured by the First Order and tortured but freed by a defecting Finn) but tends to come out of them in one piece. 

He notably has a strong sense of commitment and duty, but throughout canon is shown to have trouble with walking the fine line between his commitment to the Resistance and the commitment to his comrades. This is shown by his willingness to disobey a direct order from his superior and later starting a mutiny against another superior - the results of both managing to get many killed and almost completely wipe the resistance off the face of the galaxy. Poe is also notably confident in his skills ("I can fly anything") and in his mission, he sometimes displays an impatience that arose only from a desire to fulfill whatever mission or task was at hand.

Poe is a human male standing at about 5'7 with dark hair, brown eyes, and tan skin. He typically is seen wearing a Resistance pilot uniform or earth tone, sturdy clothing such as a leather jacket, dark pants, and off-white shirt. He will come into the game looking a little worse for wear and in his clothing from TLJ - but covered in salt and grime.

Abilities:

Poe is noted to be the " or a "Hell of a pilot" during the course of sequel trilogy. Dameron flew starships since he was six years old, and by the age of 32 was considered the most daring and skilled of the Resistance pilots - even having a reputation of being the "best" elsewhere.

Special Notes:  If canon isn't the correct designation - let me know, but there is a canon point in Rise that I don't particularly care for (Spice Runner background for Poe) and I would strike that and not have it played or referenced. I don't and have never agreed with canon post "Resistance Reborn" in any way. Also, Poe is disaster-pan. So, shipping is on the table.

Poe Dameron is a 32 year old Captain (former Commander) of the Resistance and formerly a Captain of the Rapier Squadron" of the New Republic's forces. He has been shown in canon to have exception skill in piloting and decent skills with weapons (such as blasters). He is also bilingual and able to understand binary. Poe, in terms of personality, is known for being daring, but also for being fiercely loyal and stubborn. He is also a fierce friend and willing to see the good in others. However, some of his traits come with a drawback of being unable or unwilling to accept decisions that he does not agree with. This is especially apparent during "The Last Jedi" where he leads a mutiny against Vice Admiral Holdo after a plan for the remaining Resistance forces to escape becomes known and he deems her plans to be "cowardly" instead of courageous.

Poe also has been shown to be "snarky" or even "mouthy" to others, especially in stressful or dangerous situations, and he has used that as a method of fighting back or buying himself (or others) time to escape or prevent information from becoming known to the First Order. He is seen mouthing off to Kylo Ren when initially captured and again before being tortured. He also contacts a star destroyer later in canon and instigates a "prank call" to General Hux to buy the other forces time to escape and to begin a bombing raid against a dreadnaught of the First Order's.

By the end of the events of TDJ, Poe has been forced to learn just what makes a leader and what is bravado and what is truly brave and the best decision for all after she went against orders and that one decision set into motion a series of subsequent events that turned into most of the Resistance being wiped out.

Why do you believe your character is an appropriate fit for this game?

Well, I saw Kylo Ren as a taken character and thought that CR with them would be really fun.

What would you like to do with your character in this game?

I don't have any particular ideas at this time, but I suppose he would fall into a "God of Fire" role and I also suppose he would be interested in attempting to get home (canon events have him worried about everyone he "left behind") and trying to spend some time looking into that, then eventually fall into a routine and slowly starting to care about this world and what is occurring here. He also might start to see this experience as some sort of chance to repent for his past mistakes (see "The Last Jedi" for a full list of bad decisions).
